Formal clothes are wack
I utterly despise wearing a suit and tie, they don't look cool to me, they look like the costume of the elites, who don't represent me. Wearing their clothes denies my freedom on a physical level, my identity is negated as a result of wearing their uniform which represents their values – capitalism, conservative, Anglo Saxon values etc. Did you know the quintessential Scottish kilt is actually an invention of the English monarchy? The kilt was not what is presented in popular culture. The monarchy took something that was cool and made it prissy, conservative and lame, like themselves. Suits are similar in that regard. I'm thinking of doing a teaching course in the UK, but the thought of wearing formal attire is not cool. I haven't worn formal clothes as part of a job since 2008 and when I was wearing shoes, slacks, shirt etc I felt like I…
New commission pay.
So I have a question. What things should I be asking my company. We are going from sales based commission 2% on total sales for the month to profit based commission. My worry is they will lie and say they paid more for an item I sold and say my profit wasn’t as high as it should have been. This will be new to me any help would be great. I live in missouri.
Engineering Industry
I wanna know what the engineers on this sub are currently experiencing with their employers. Are you being treated well or do they see you as just a “necessary evil” because you’re not an operator and don’t provide output for the company. All engineers I know tell a similar story of their employer trying to make their jobs as hard as possible by reducing their budgets for spares or even refusing to replace tools due to “budget restrictions”.
My direct supervisor works 70hrs a week because they prioritizes work over personal health, is inefficient, and is up our boss’s ass. They regularly pressure me into working late, but they always work later. The last 2 Fridays they have lamented to me about how they have to interrupt their family time to work. Being regularly annoyed by them I feel angry like they are suggesting I work as much as they do to help them. I try to have compassion for their dumb dumb brain, but how do i address this. Current plan “if you are working too much you should go to our boss.” Would that even stop it?
How to convince higher-ups to bump wages
I’m in a pretty niche industry and our branch has been severely understaffed since I was hired on (2020). The job is rough on the body and there isn’t much work life balance due to being on call 24/7. I’ve only stuck through it due to them paying the most out of anywhere for my role (CDL) but I only got this much due to threatening to quit. Management is still going with the “No one wants to work” excuse but starting pay is only $17.50 in Cincinnati for a job involving the clean up of hazardous materials. I don’t know how to convince them it is the pay and lifestyle that is off putting and not folks being lazy Any tips to bring up to management? I’m tired of pulling 70-80 weeks and it’s catching up to me
Fuck you bealls outlet and Matt Beall
EDIT: This is for Bealls Inc of Florida. Not Bealls of Stage stores(peebles) Over $80 million in profit. But no covid bonus or extra for store managers. But you are converting the executive team to Tesla cars? We had our pay reduced during covid closure and never paid back. We couldn't use vacation time to make it up. You keep bragging on sales increases and record profits but it doesn't trickle down. You termed countless corporate staff during covid. People who had been with the company for decades and gave everything to you. My pay as a store manager was 42k. 10% bonus. Impossible to get. Payroll budgets of 5% of sales.
