Tell me the dumbest / most insulting / most laughable thing you’ve ever been given by your boss as “appreciation” instead of a raise.

I’m losing patience. I was fired from a church on what I strongly believe was disability discrimination and not my ability to perform my job. They did a great job of covering their asses though. Well the blazing idiots did not turn off the call forwarding to my cell phone. It’s been a week since I was fired and my phones been going off with calls from the church. When I worked remote, I had calls forwarded to my personal cell. I have in writing two emails asking them to turn off call forwarding and also asking that I not be contacted pertaining any questions, anything whether from staff or members. Sorry if this is long winded but want to give as much context. I’ve had a lot of issues with this job in the span of working here for a month and a bit but today was honestly defeating and I’m wondering what the best way to respond would be. I’ve never had to confront a boss about this sort of thing. I work at a barn and this was my first week back after being off due to a workplace injury so I’ve been doing half days which end at 12:00pm as to not reinjure myself. So today, 12:00pm comes and I leave, so far all my responsibilities are completed and even some extras, I’d consider it a very productive work day. He was hired from overseas to relocate to the US. The company paid for a plane ticket, paid for an apartment and car for a couple of months and helped him find another apartment. The overall cost of the services was billed to be over $70k and that was before Covid. If an employee quits they have to repay this amount. To add insult to injury, he was sent a tax form and had to pay taxes off that amount because that relocation “package” was considered income. He talked to a lawyer and they just shrugged and said can't do anything. If I ever take a relocation package, it will be cash.

So I recently injured myself during a vacation and was asked to get clearance before returning to work. I asked if a “desk-work” clearance would suffice or if I was to be fully cleared in order to return. For context – my job involves about 50% desk work and 50% general maintenance, running around the building to bring things to people, receive things from the front door (up a half flight) etc. I was told a desk work only notw would be okay. My dr provided a note clearing me for one week of desk work. Since returning I am being regularly asked to do things away from my desk. Most recently I was yelled at for not moving fast enough from my desk, up a half flight of stairs, to get the front door. (I was with a client at the time and even if I could move that…

I work for an Asian American rights organization. My boss is pretty abusive and I have been seeking a way out and found a fellowship that supports original ideas to better your community. It is being offered by another Asian American Rights Group (Not sure if it is important to mention that their CEO hates my boss and vice versa [again, my boss is industry-known for being awful, but has powerful connections). My current job has a non-compete with employment: “During the term of employment with —– and for twelve (12) months following the termination of employment, employees are prohibited from engaging in or assisting any business, organization, or activity that competes with the programs, services, or initiatives offered by —-“. But since this is an open fellowship over two years and not the same as employment, I wondered if it counted or if it fell under 'assisting any organization'.…

Such a little thing but also so annoyed. I picked up a shift on Memorial Day because the company policy said we’d get an extra $5/hour for working on holidays. Well I worked 3.6 hours and only made an extra $15. Why? Apparently payroll says it’s their policy to only pay the $5 for full hours worked, and not partial hours. So if I had worked 3 hours and 55 min I’d still only get an extra $15 instead of 20.
